Handmade molded soy wax candles: a blend of creativity and fun
2025-05-27 16:03The process of making molded soy wax candles is a handmade journey full of creativity and fun.
First, prepare the required materials: soy wax (select the appropriate type according to the production requirements, such as columnar soy wax is suitable for mold making),
soy candle mold (silicone molds are flexible and easy to demold; metal molds are durable and can shape clear details), candle wicks (select the appropriate thickness according to
the size of the soy candle), aromatherapy essential oils (provide personalized fragrance), dyes (optional, used to color soy wax candles).
Chop the soy wax into pieces and put it into a wax melting container, heat it over low heat and stir constantly until it is completely melted.
Pay attention to controlling the temperature to avoid overheating and burning of the soy wax liquid. When the temperature of the soy wax liquid
drops slightly, add an appropriate amount of aromatherapy essential oil (generally 5%-10% of the weight of the wax liquid), stir evenly, and let the fragrance fully blend.
If you want to color the soy wax candle, you can add a small amount of soy wax candle special dye at this time, stir while adding, and observe the color until you are satisfied.
While waiting for the soy wax liquid to cool down, handle the candle wick. Fix one end of the candle wick to the center of the bottom of the mold with hot melt glue or wax to ensure stability.
For taller molds, use a bamboo stick or candle wick holder to fix the candle wick vertically in the mold to prevent it from tipping over.
When the temperature of the soy wax liquid drops to the appropriate mold temperature (generally 80-90 degrees for columnar soy wax), slowly pour the soy wax liquid into the mold to avoid bubbles.
If there are bubbles, gently poke them with a toothpick or a fine needle. After filling the mold, let the soy wax candle cool and solidify naturally.
Try to avoid moving the mold during this period to avoid affecting the candle molding effect.
Wait for the soy candle to completely solidify and carefully demold it. The silicone mold can be gently bent to demold;
if the metal mold has a sticky candle, the bottom of the mold can be briefly soaked in warm water to assist demolding. After demolding, trim the candle wick to the appropriate length (generally 0.5-1 cm), and a unique mold soy wax candle is ready.
